QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Health Education, Physical Education, or a related field. They must possess state teaching certification in Health and Physical Education. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of health and physical education curriculum standards and instructional strategies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective teaching. The ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment is necessary to support student success. Candidates should have experience in developing and implementing health and physical education lesson plans. Proficiency in assessing student learning and providing constructive feedback is important for academic growth. Additionally, candidates should exhibit a commitment to promoting physical fitness, wellness, and healthy lifestyle choices among students.

 

DESCRIPTION

The Elementary Health and Physical Education Teacher is responsible for delivering comprehensive health and physical education instruction to elementary school students. This role aims to foster healthy habits, physical literacy, and overall well-being among students.

Work is performed under the direction of the School Principal.

 

WORK CONDITIONS

This position typically operates in a high school classroom and gymnasium environment. The teacher may be required to stand, walk, and demonstrate physical activities for extended periods. Additionally, the teacher may need to attend after-school events, such as sports games or wellness fairs, as part of their responsibilities.
