QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate for this position should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. They must hold, or be eligible to hold, a state teaching certification in Technology Education or a relevant subject area. Candidates with Computer Science and Engineering experience are preferred.  Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in computer programming languages, software applications, and digital technologies. Additionally, they should have a strong understanding of educational technology tools and how to integrate them into instructional practices. Experience in teaching technology-related courses at the high school level is required. Candidates should also know about curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective teaching. Moreover, candidates should exhibit a commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with technology trends.

 

DESCRIPTION

The High School Technology Teacher works to instill a love of technology, electronics, and advanced manufacturing in our students. As a High School Technology Teacher, you will develop curriculum, teach technology classes, and support students as they explore and create with technology.

SUPERVISION

Work is performed under the direction of the School Principal in conjunction with the Supervisor of Career & Technical Education.

 

WORK CONDITIONS

Duties performed are typically in the school setting.  Professional work is performed by providing support and consultative services for the assigned department/program. Work requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, and light lifting.  Some assignments are subject to deadlines inherent in tailoring and delivering programs to meet the needs of diverse groups. Employees may be required to perform emergency and non-emergency health-related services for students as needed.

 

205-Day Contract
