Performs a variety of support tasks which assist the After School Program Administrator and Youth Coordinator in planning and conducting after school activities and programs for Hopewell Students.

 

*Must be willing to work evenings and weekends for special events.

 

General Duties

  • Assists with the supervision of all participants and activities organized by The ‘WELL, including in-house activities, field trips, and other activities.
  • Assists with planning and conducting activities for the well, including promotion, marketing, distributing and collecting materials, advertising, set up and clean up, etc.
  • Models and promotes positive behaviors and social interactions.
  • Builds relationships with youth to nurture strengths and promote healthy social and emotional growth of participants.
  • Assists with providing a safe environment by monitoring and supervising all youth during arrival and departure.
  • Helps maintain order and assists in managing the behavior of the youth, including crisis prevention, restorative justice and other social emotional techniques.
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies designed to improve the social skills and academic performance of youth.
  • Encourages community and stakeholder involvement activities.
  • Assists in planning and implementing monthly calendars and events, to include  gaming tournaments, sports tournaments, etc.
  • Creates flyers and other marketing tools to distribute for extracurricular activities that the organization hosted by The 'Well.  
  • Performs any other related work duties as assigned or required to improve and maintain the daily function and success of The 'Well.

Work Hours

  • Weekday hours
    • Mondays, Wednesdays, HHS days (shifts may vary depending on student need)
      • 3:00 pm-8:00 pm or 3:30 pm -8:30 pm
    • Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, CGW days (shifts may vary depending on student need)
      • 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm or 2:30 pm-7:30 pm
  • Must be available to work nights and some weekends for special events
  • 25 - 29 hours per week, except on special occasions, with approval
  • Must be able to meet weekly on Wednesday for mandatory staff meetings via Google Meet

Supervision

 

Work is performed under direct supervision of the After School Program Administrator and the Youth Coordinator.  This classification of employee has no employee supervision. 

 

 

Work Conditions

 

Work requires continuous standing, walking, and may require lifting.  Work may involve exposure to risks associated with students in heightened emotional states.  Employee will be required to perform emergency and non-emergency health-related services for the students to which the Employee is assigned.
